About Guus:
In 1996 Guus graduated from the Rotterdam conservatory (Jazz) on both electric and double bass. Guus has been a freelance bass player, composer and teacher ever since. In 2018 he started teaching at Fontys conservatory in Tilburg. The scope of music he has been playing reaches from Pop & Funk to Jazz and free improv music. Serving the music - any kind of music - and connecting with wishes of the artist he’s playing for, has priority. He uses mainly effect pedals for all kinds of different sounds, trying to capture the atmosphere of the song. On double bass it’s even more about the fingers and of course the bow. 'Be prepared' is his motto.
